Course Description:

Life skills is designed to increase students' knowledge of and ability in using the skills necessary for everyday living. Life Skills emphasizes defining personal values, goal setting and planning, and solving problems. Instructional material focuses on dealing with media and peer pressure, communication and relationships, working with others, avoiding and/or resolving conflict, decision making, wellness and personal safety, aspects of good citizenship, environmental awareness, and how students can contribute to their own community The 3 Main Goals of Mr. Eveland’s Health class:

• Students will gain the knowledge and skills to remain healthy throughout their lives.
• Students will gain an appreciation for the lifelong benefits of living a healthy lifestyle.
• Students will be motivated to improve and maintain their health, prevent disease and injury and reduce risky behaviors.

Late Work: Late work will be accepted up to 2 days after the due date with a 10% off per day penalty. On the 3rd day the student will receive a zero.

Absences and Makeup Work: It is each student's responsibility to ask for any missing assignments or makeup work due to absences from the class. Students will be given one day for each day's excused absence to complete missing work. (once the work becomes late please see the late work section above)

Classroom Materials:

Please bring a notebook, health binder, pencil all health assignments and/or homework everyday.

When the bell rings please have all materials out and be ready to go forward with the class. Failure to do so will result in an immediate tardy!
